New Stuff!
After I graduated from NYU and moved back to my hometown of Columbus, my parents immediately told me they were moving to Manhattan, KS. For the next year, I felt alone and drifting, and I wasn't writing consistently. I picked up this memoir by Larry Brown and it changed my life immediately. Brown was a firefighter in Oxford, MI for almost twenty years, and toward the end of that tenure, he started writing. He found the discipline and the motivation he needed to forge a new - and incredibly successful - career. I'm rereading the book now and it is hitting me just as hard, 27 years later.
