Abstracts
I've painted a huge amount of these abstract color studies over the years, including quite a few on commission.
One of them - Amazon No. 2 - was used by Krombacher Brewery in Germany in a nationwide street advertising campaign.
When I'm working on larger paintings, I often have smaller canvas panels to use for abstracts, before the leftover paint dries in my palette.

Also: the water soluble crayon pieces were done on watercolor paper, so that's why the very slight shadows of the paper show up in the scans!
